Clachie & Surrounding Area

Clachie is a traditional Bothy situated at Clach na Brain in the Angus & Dundee area of Scotland. The Angus and Dundee area provides a gradual transition from the Lowlands to the Highlands with much of the area being famous for fertile farmland where soft fruit such as rasperries & strawberries are grown and the world famous Aberdeen Angus Cattle are raised.
There are a number of attractive towns and villages in the area including Dundee, Arbroath, Montrose, Carnoustie, Forfar and Brechin. To the east is a fantastic and varied coastline, complete with craggy cliffs, sea caves and beautiful esturies ranging from the famous Carnoustie Links , through the fishing town of Arbroath - famous for its smokies - and on up to Montrose.
North of Strathmore the hills become gradually bigger as the countryside merges into the Highlands. The Angus Glens namely; Glen Clova, Glenisla, Glen Prosen, Glen Lethnot and Glen Esk are amongst Scotland's most accessible areas for hillwalking and cycling, with some surprisingly craggy scenery around their uppermost reaches.
Being on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park, and as well as walking, exploring or cycling holidays we are also an ideal base for fishing, bird watching, golfing, touring or for nothing more than simply relaxing in one of Scotlands most beautiful area.......
